DO YOU KNOW A CHILD BETWEEN THE AGES OF 3 AND 8 WHO HAS AUTISM?
The Psychopharmacology Research Clinic at LSU Health Shreveport is currently conducting a research study involving children ages 3 to 8 years with Autistic Disorder. Enrolled participants will take part in this study for 14-weeks; and, be seen in our clinic for nine study visits. The investigational medication is a tasteless sprinkle to be added to food. Participants will either take placebo (fake medicine) or study medication.
After the initial 14-week trial period, all participants will have the opportunity to take the investigational medication.
Participation will include:
- Nine clinic visits at LSU Health Shreveport with Autism specialists
- Clinic visits may include any of the following: physical exam, diagnostic and cognitive assessments
- Stool sample collection (brought from home)
Participants will receive study medication or placebo (fake medicine), clinical evaluations, medical tests, and physical exams at no cost. Reimbursement for travel will be provided.
